Mumbai: Tanuj Virwani is stepping behind the camera in a big way with Naash, an experimental thriller he has written, produced and directed himself. The entire film was shot on an iPhone, making him one of the few actors to take on all four roles for a project like this.
The shoot took place across a mix of locations, including his own farmhouse in Lonavala, as well as Kerala and Hong Kong. With full creative control, Tanuj set out to show that a smartphone can be enough to tell a compelling story, without the usual heavy production setup.

It wasn’t without its challenges. The film’s night-time thriller sequences were especially demanding, but that also made the whole experience more immersive for the team.

Talking about the idea behind the film, Tanuj said, “I wanted to experiment with the medium and see how far we could push ourselves creatively by shooting an entire film on an iPhone.”
With Naash, Tanuj moves beyond acting to show his vision as a filmmaker, taking an unconventional route to bring a thriller from idea to screen.
